NEW PROJECT WHAT ART DOES. URBAN AND EMOTIONAL JUNCTIONS
09.2023 - 12.2023
“What Art Does. Urban and Emotional Junctions” is an initiative that will unfold in September – December 2023, through which Salonul de proiecte aims to develop a type of artistic investigation essential for understanding the world we live in, configured around the interrogation of the art’s role in contemporary society. In the framework of the project, Minitremu and Mihai Toth organize a series of workshops dedicated to middle and high school students from Timișoara, based on Mircea Nicolae's type of artistic and pedagogical practice. The workshops are structured around themes such as the transitory and ephemeral nature of urban spaces, the articulation of messages related to the personal realm in public space, and the exploration of the creative potential of abandoned objects. On the other hand, the project amplifies this type of artistic research in a publication that will offer a complex perspective on Mircea Nicolae's thinking and creative mechanisms, combining critical essays with a detailed presentation of an atypical yet contextually anchored artistic practice.
